Bradley’s Jewellers York is once again participating in the popular York Ice Trail that will take place throughout the city on Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th February 2023.
To celebrate this special event, Kay Bradley is bringing back one of her most popular competitions that gives everyone the chance to WIN a laboratory-grown diamond solitaire ring from the popular York Rose Collection worth £4,000.
All you have to do to be in with a chance of winning this British-made piece of Yorkshire-inspired laboratory-grown diamond jewellery is answer a simple question by midnight on the 11th February 2023. Fill in your details below to get involved. If you’re not sure on the answer, continue reading below for some very good hints…
The competition is now closed for new entries
The theme of this year’s York Ice Trail is ‘A Journey Through Time’ and Bradley’s Jewellers York is thrilled to be participating. Just outside the entrance to our award-winning fine jewellery boutique on Low Petergate you will find a six-foot-tall ice sculpture of a York Rose Collection laboratory-grown diamond trilogy ring.
Look a bit closer, however, and you’ll see two features. The first is the Yorkshire Rose – the ultimate symbol of Yorkshire and its regions. We’ve managed to miniaturise this historic flower and use it as part of the diamond setting in our York Rose Collection. It’s a beautiful way to celebrate your Yorkshire roots or simply show your appreciation for the region. Secondly, frozen at the heart of the ice sculpture will be the prize itself! Our one-carat laboratory-grown diamond solitaire ring is housed deep within the ice… this is the ring that is up for grabs as part of this competition. Once it thaws and the winner is announced, it will be on its way to a new home.
Kay Bradley says: “The Ice Trail is such a popular winter attraction in York; we’ve loved getting involved and have commissioned some incredible sculptures over the past decade. Our annual York Ice Trail competition is one of our highlights of the year. I can’t wait to see who wins this incredible one-carat laboratory-grown diamond ring, which is from a special collection that’s near and dear to my heart.”
The Prize – A 1ct Laboratory-Grown Diamond Ring from The York Rose Collection
Let’s take a closer look at what we’ve frozen in ice. This year’s prize is a round brilliant-cut laboratory-grown diamond ring crafted in platinum with a retail value of £4,000. The one carat stone has a fantastic E colour and VS2 clarity, which means plenty of brilliance and sparkle. For your complete peace of mind, this laboratory-grown diamond is also certified by the International Gemological Institute (IGI) and comes with its own unique identifying number (LG557235680).

The York Rose Collection pays homage to the historic city of York and takes inspiration from the White Rose of York, the Rose Window at York Minster, as well as the Yorkshire Rose National Trust emblem that highlights listed buildings in and around York. It was formally unveiled at a charity event at York Minster on May 20, 2022, just before Her Late Majesty the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.
The York Rose Collection includes single stone solitaire diamond rings, as well as eternity rings, wedding bands, bangles, pendants and earrings, all of which bear the Yorkshire Rose emblem as a decorative feature. The single stone and five-stone rings have a ‘hidden’ Yorkshire Rose side profile with an additional touch of sparkle right at the centre of the bloom. The graduated eternity ring design uses five diamonds to symbolise the four regions of Yorkshire and the City of York itself.
Kay concludes: “There is a real buzz in the city about the upcoming Ice Trail; we are really excited to officially unveil our York Rose diamond ring sculpture and give away this exquisite ring that, just like the ice art, is a contemporary fusion of nature and technology.”
