It’s not been long since we were at the illustrious Hilton London Metropole, surrounded by the glitterati of the luxury jewellery industry for the UK Jewellery Awards 2022, and we’re still pinching ourselves! We’re enormously proud to have won the prestigious Retail Jeweller of the Year (Five Stores or Fewer) award. This means so much to us after working so incredibly hard to make Bradley’s (now officially) one of the top jewellers in the UK.
The night of the awards is something we’ll never forget; while being a jeweller is not all glitz and glamour, the night made us feel like we were in Vegas, seeing everyone decked out in their finest. The awards brought together over 600 jewellery industry leaders and celebrated the UK’s amazing jewellers, designers and retailers in 21 categories.
It was an honour to be shortlisted in the Retail Jeweller of the Year (Five Stores or Fewer) award with the likes of the incomparable Dinny Hall, Fitzgerald Jewellers and fellow northerners, Hill & Hill The Jewellers. Everyone nominated is a master of their craft. We’re privileged to have been nominated alongside such an impressive list of gifted jewellers.
We’ve just brought the award to its new home in York and have finally had some time to reflect on what has led us to this moment. Like so many, when we reopened after the lockdowns, we were unsure what kind of landscape we faced. But, thanks to the determination, grit and support of our fantastic team, we were able to not only survive but thrive in the ‘new normal’. Over the past year, we have launched our new jewellery brand, Eco Rocks, and collaborated with the esteemed international brand Fabergé to launch its collections in York. We also unveiled our Yorkshire Rose Fabergé Egg Pendant and we are excited to launch new Fabergé Yorkshire Rose pieces very soon. It truly has been an incredible year, and we’re over the moon to have been recognised by such a renowned and prominent event as the UK Jewellery Awards.
We have been overwhelmed and moved by the sheer amount of support and love that has come our way since winning this award. As a family business, we have come such a long way in our 50 years, and it means so much to bring this award to our special little jewellers and put York firmly on the map. We feel immensely proud of our journey; we are so grateful to our exceptional customers, our hard-grafting team and our top UK suppliers, who have all helped us throughout our journey to get to where we are. We would not be a successful family business without the support and love of our family and our miracle Rupert Bear; without them, we would not be able to work 90-hour weeks and achieve moments like this.
Lastly, we would like to especially thank Ruth Faulkner and the entire Retail Jeweller team for their ongoing encouragement and recognition. We are part of such a unique and supportive industry and feel very blessed to be a part of it. To come through a national lockdown, survive and stay strong and successful makes us all winners in our minds.
